	Words and letters ...a few examples

	Before children start school, it would help if they knew...
	That books, newspapers, letters, magazines and notes are words written down and tell us things. That words are written down using letters. That the letters are called the alphabet. That numbers, like three, six, and two can also be written down with numerals: 3, 6, and 2.
